New Jersey EV Rebates

New Law (#NJS2252)

More info on Law (#NJS2252)

Governor Murphy Affirms Electric Vehicle Rebate Eligibility
Effective as of January 17, 2020

Signed 1-17-2020 in Trenton that will allow you to save up to $5000
on a new Electric Vehicle. You have the potential to save up to $16,640
in NJ when buying a new EV.

The vehicle must be less expensive than $55,000.
You get $25 back for each mile of range.
So, an Electric Vehicle that only goes 150 miles will get $3750 off.

You want to buy a EV with 200 miles range or more and have it be under $55K.

Then in NJ there is NO sales Tax for an Electric Vehicle.
Thatís up to another $3600 in money that you are not spending.

And some manufacturers still have the ability for you to claim $7500 from the IRS.
(Not Tesla or Chevy any longer) This is not a gift. It is based on your tax liability.
If you only pay $6000 to the IRS the year you buy the EV thatís the most you can claim.
If your tax liability is $20,000 then you can purchase 3 New EVs and claim up to $20,000.
If you already paid your tax liability then youíll receive a check.
You do not lose the incentive if you are already paid in full with the IRS

NJ will also pay $500 towards the installation of an Electric Vehicle Charger in your home.

A $55,000 #MustangMachE can be bought for only $38,357 - That Vehicle goes 300 miles per charge.

A 156 mile Nissan LEAF that sells for $31,000 can be bought for only $20,200!

Join the NJEVA.org Facebook group for more info and to get answers to your questions.

Make sure you research your utility company as well.
Some give additional rebates when purchasing an EV
